Amy Yoger

Youth LEAD Program Manager

Amy grew up loving the outdoors with a passion for exploring the forests and ocean ecosystems along the California coast. From an early age, she found herself drawn to nature, and went to school at Cal Poly- San Luis Obispo (SLO) to pursue a B.S. in Earth Science and Marine Biology. During college, Amy focused on researching delicate aquatic ecosystems and discovered a love of teaching environmental science. In SLO, she provided accessible outdoor science classes to elementary school students and directed the student-run non-profit, Sprout Up. Since then, Amy has worked as a naturalist, guide, and scientist, teaching and volunteering locally and internationally – from California, to the islands of Indonesia and beaches of Costa Rica. Amy’s goal is to provide fun, accessible, and inclusive experiences related to the intricacies of nature and the importance of personal exploration. When she is not teaching or planning trips, she is backpacking the Sierras or hanging by the ocean. Amy is thrilled to be part of the ETC team and share her love of the outdoors and passion for environmental education with our Youth LEAD students and fellows.
