Yoseline Castillo

Youth LEAD Program Manager

Yoseline (YO-Sze-Lin) (She/They) is a proud Chicana, born in Cuernavaca, Morelos, México and raised in San Francisco, California. Her earliest memories in the outdoors date back to her involvement with the ETC skiing program while being a participant of an after-school organization, Homeaway, where she engaged in experimental learning. Yoseline has grown up within the ETC community and participated in several adventures in which she experienced firsthand their capacity to foster connection to nature. Her pathway as an outdoor educator has taken her on various opportunities of supporting transformative programs for school-aged youth, including as lead educator for Outward Bound California and preschool teacher at Parks Plus Creation. Her college education in Sociology and Social Justice supports her passion for bringing communities of color into outdoor spaces and cultivating a safe space to feel belonging and empowerment.

As an ETC summer course alumna, former YLP fellow and youth LEAD summer course instructor, she can’t wait to be a form of representation for the ETC Youth LEAD community and continue the work of fostering accessible, life-changing experiences.
